Kayak access
The descents of the Lesse are proposed every day, from 01/04/2023 to 15/10/2023, except on the 1st Saturday of June (03/06/2023) and in case of an unfavourable variation in the level of the Lesse.
Check the following practicalities, while taking the date of your visit and your means of travel into account.
We always recommend that you book in advance: you will receive full and personalised information and will be kept informed in case of any variation in the conditions of navigability.

You reach us by car
You are expected at the arrival of the kayaks :
- kayak trip of 12 en 21 km : rue du vélodrome 15 - 5500 Anseremme (DINANT)
- kayak trip of 9 km : gare de Gendron-Celles - 5561 Celles (HOUYET)
Large free car park are at your disposal.
After picking up your tickets at the ticket’s office, you will take a shuttle to the departure point of your choice.
Shuttle departure times vary according to the time of year and the destination.
For the 21km Houyet-Anseremme en the 12km trip Gendron-Anseremme :
Shuttle* departure from 22/04 to 26/09 :
The train to Houyet leaves :
- Monday to Friday at 08:25 - 09:25 - 10:25 - 11:25
- Saturday and Sunday at 08:25 - 08:55 - 09:55 - 10:25 - 10:55 [+ 11:55 booking compulsory - only in July and August].
The train to Gendron leaves :
- Monday to Friday at 08:25 - 09:25 - 10:25 - 11:25 - 12:25 - 13:25 [+ 14:25 booking compulsory - only in July and August].
- Saturday and Sunday at 08:25 - 08:55 - 09:55 - 10:25 - 10:55 - 11:55 - 12:25 - 12:55 [+ 14:25 booking compulsory - only in July and August].
(At weekends, buses supplement the train departures).

You join us by coach
You are expected directly at the starting point of your choice.
A large free car park is available to drop off the participants. The bus will then go and wait for them at the arrival in Anseremme.
The opening hours of the boarding points are as follows:
Boarding at Houyet (for the 21km and the 9km trips) :
Boarding is possible from 10:00 to 12:00 every day,
and from 09:30 to 12:30 from 16/06 to 15/09.
Boarding at Gendron (for the 12km trip) :
Boarding is possible from 10:00 to 14:00 every day,
and from 09:30 to 14:30 from 16/06 to 15/09.
You join us by train
You are expected directly at the starting point of your choice.
The stations of Houyet, Gendron and Anseremme are all less than 150m from our offices and paydesks.
The opening hours of the boarding points are as follows:
Boarding at Houyet (for the 21km and the 9km trips) :
Embarking is possible from 10:00 to 12:00 every day,
and from 09:30 to 13:00 from 16/06 to 15/09.
Boarding at Gendron (for the 12km trip) :
Boarding is possible from 10:00 to 14:00 every day,
and from 09:30 to 14:30 from 16/06 to 15/09.
To keep your personal belongings dry, it is possible to leave 1 bag per person with our staff, who will bring it back for you at the arrival so that you don't get loaded in the kayak.
No money or valuables or fragile items! All bags for the day are stored together and unattended. SA Dinant Evasion cannot be held responsible for any problems.
On arrival of the kayaks in Anseremme, hot showers and changing rooms are free and directly accessible.
In Gendron, there are only changing rooms.
Minimum age
Depending on the water level, navigation conditions and minimum age may vary! Always consult our page Navigability of the river Lesse before your departure.
Kayaking on the Lesse is an activity usually accessible to children from 5 years old accompanied by an adult, and from 12 years old alone in a single kayak..
Life jackets are free for all and in all sizes, on request. They are mandatory for children under 10 years old.
People with reduced mobility
Kayaking is an activity that is difficult to access for people with severely reduced mobility.
Wearing a life jacket is mandatory for safety reasons.

Food
During your descent, several meal options are available:
- bring your own picnic
- book a meal or barbecue on arrival in Anseremme (min. 20 pers.)
If you bring your own picnic :
- Make sure it fits in the sealed bucket that comes with the kayak (no cooler !).
- No crate/pack/mini-barrel of beer or other alcohol
- Leave no waste behind
- Stop ONLY in areas where docking is specifically authorised.
